Income tax preparation is offered through the VITA program (Volunteer Income Tax Program) from February 1st through April 15th each year.
You are eligible for VITA if your annual household income is:
- Less than $26,000 a year for an individual
- Less than $52,000 a year for a family (2 or more people)
Our trained and certified volunteers are available to prepare returns by appointment only. We CANNOT process corporate returns or foreign income.

Required Documents to Bring
You are REQUIRED to bring the following documents to your appointment or we CANNOT complete your return:
□ Valid Driver’s License or State ID for each adult on the return
□ Social security card for each adult and child on the return - MUST HAVE THIS!!
□ All W2’s (including Gambling/Lottery winnings)
□ All 1099’s (including Social Security; Pension; Unemployment; Interest/Dividends; Misc. Income)
□ DHS Assistance (Annual Statement)
□ Child Support (Annual Statement)
□ Letter from SSA (if applicable)
□ 2012 tax return
PROOF OF EXPENSES:
□ Any and all childcare expenses
□ Property Tax Statement
□ Mortgage Interest Statement
□ Monthly rent amount (if applicable) and the name & address of the landlord
□ December or January gas bill for heating credit (income must be under $15,000/yr. to be eligible)
□ Car insurance bill showing Personal Injury Protection (PIP) amount
□ Medical or HMO premiums paid for self and/or family members
□ Student loan interest or tuition and course materials
DIRECT DEPOSIT INFORMATION
□ Direct deposit information (bank routing number & account number; checking or savings). No checks will be issued this year. If you do not have a savings or checking account, you will receive a debit card.
